Chinese and english are TWO DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. One roots in europe and the other in asia. Don’t you suppose that if sometimes a word’s translation does not make sense it might mean something else? Because we are all human beings, we think the same, therefore our feelings are the same, but we may speak differently?

All in all, 变态 in this case only means EVIL.

Remember that 1.) The husband [Xianzi Ke'er (仙子可儿), we'll call him XK] was “more than happy to” be the sole breadwinner; & 2.) The woman wasn’t that interested in working (which weakly implies going outside. The article doesn’t allude too much to her traveling out.)

In my opinion, XK lost hella-face, ‘cuz the kid (Zheng Xin/Tongxu) called XK out! It was a bit of a low blow: “Yeah did your wife! She loved every minute of it..! Whatcha gonna do? You wanna piece of this?”
The Sentinel battle ensues, but it’s clear that there are some people with “upright morals”, who thought that Zheng Xin/Tongxu’s behavior deserved a beat down.

We in America don’t mention the word/concept face when stuff like this happens, but then again, we don’t have the same social structure.

I’m probably coming off as a shallow person for saying this, but this would make a decent TV or Vid-Cast series! It is somewhat exciting, and there are questions of what XK will do, as well as his family and in-laws, and the wife…! WOW! (pun not originally intended)
